Why a round trip and not a resort?
Bali is much more than the beaches of the south. Its finest places are spread out: the sea temple of Tanah Lot, the UNESCO rice terraces of Jatiluwih, the cool mountains around Munduk, Mount Batur and the Sidemen valley. And then there's Komodo, a short flight away, with Komodo dragons, turquoise bays and pink beaches.
Still, a honeymoon is not a hotel-to-hotel marathon. That's why you stay two or three nights in most places. You start slowly on the west coast and end with a day by the pool above the bay of Labuan Bajo.
The route at a glance
- Days 1–2, west coast near Kedungu: recover from the flight, beach and pool, and Tanah Lot and Batu Bolong at sunset
- Days 3–5, rice terraces and mountains: the temples of Taman Ayun and Batukaru, walking in Jatiluwih, Ulun Danu Beratan on its lake and the waterfalls around Munduk
- Days 6–7, Batur: sunrise on the summit of the volcano
- Days 8–9, Sidemen: Besakih, the mother temple on the slopes of Mount Agung, and the rice fields of Sidemen
- Days 10–12, Ubud: the Campuhan ridge walk, the water springs of Tirta Empul and the couples' massage
- Days 13–15, Komodo: Labuan Bajo on Flores, Padar and Rinca with the Komodo dragons, and a day by the pool above the bay
- Day 16: back to Bali and departure

Rather more resort time?
That's possible. Every route is a starting point. If you want more beach, you get extra nights by the sea or the pool, and we drop a stage. That way you keep the best of both: the real Bali and time to do nothing together.
What's included?
Pickup at the airport and the transfer on your last day. All stays arranged in advance. Your own driver on Bali. The activities and entrance fees on the route, and the romantic moments. Breakfast, and the meals at remote places with no alternative. My number, always at hand, before and during the trip.
Not included: the international flight, the visa on arrival (IDR 500,000, approx. €25), your travel and cancellation insurance, most lunches and dinners, and optional activities such as a surf lesson or snorkelling.
Why April to October?
That's the dry season on Bali and around Komodo. The sea is calm, the sky clear and the boat trips run most smoothly. July and August are the busiest months, and flights cost more then.

Isn't Bali too busy for a honeymoon?
The route avoids the crowds of the south. The busiest places, such as Tanah Lot and Ulun Danu Beratan, you visit early or late in the day.
How do we get to Komodo?
By domestic flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo on Flores. It's included in the price.
Can we travel for less than 16 days?
Yes. Shorter or longer is possible; we fit the number of days to your leave.
Do we have to drive ourselves?
No. On Bali your own driver does the driving.
